Corrections Policy
Indian government recruitment notifications change frequently. Recruiting bodies issue corrigenda, extend deadlines, revise vacancy counts, and occasionally postpone or cancel exams. We do our best to verify every detail before publishing, but mistakes still happen, and official changes after publication are routine. This page explains exactly how we handle both situations and how you can flag a concern if you find one.
What counts as a correction
We treat the following as corrections that must be reflected on the post:
- A factual error in any number, date, fee, or eligibility detail at the time of publication.
- A misattributed quote, source, or recruiting body name.
- A broken or wrong official link, official PDF, or apply link.
- An official corrigendum issued by the recruiting body that changes any field of the original notification.
- A spelling or grammatical mistake in a post heading or body text that could mislead a reader.
- A reservation, age relaxation, or eligibility detail that does not match the legally binding text in the notification.
How to report an error
Please email us at [[email protected]] with the subject line beginning “Correction” and include:
- The full URL of the post in question.
- The specific claim, number, date, or line you believe is incorrect.
- The correct information as you understand it.
- A link to the official source that supports the correction, where possible.
How we respond
Editorial corrections are reviewed by Navin Singh (Research and Verification) for factual accuracy and by Alok Kumar (Editorial Lead, ex-government) for policy and procedural context. For corrections that touch reservation, age relaxation, or other legally significant eligibility text, Shrish Awasthi (Founder, Bar Council registered Advocate) reviews the proposed change before it goes live.
We aim to acknowledge genuine reports within 48 working hours and to update the post within 72 working hours of confirmation. The exact timing depends on the complexity of the issue and how quickly the official source can be re-verified.
How corrections are recorded on the post
When a post is corrected after publication, we do the following on the post itself:
- The corrected information replaces the incorrect information in the body of the post.
- The “Updated” date on the post is set to the date of the correction.
- For substantive corrections, where a number, eligibility rule, or date has materially changed, we add a brief note at the bottom of the post indicating what was corrected and when. For minor copy-edit fixes that do not change the meaning, we update silently.
- If an official corrigendum is the reason for the change, we link to or summarise the corrigendum in the body of the post.
Takedown requests
If you believe a post on this site infringes your copyright, defames you, or contains private information that should not be public, please write to us at [[email protected]] with the subject line beginning “Takedown”. Include the URL of the post, a description of your concern, and your contact details. We respond to all genuine takedown requests within seven working days and will remove or edit content where the request is justified.
What we will not do
- We will not silently delete posts to hide errors. If a post must be unpublished, the URL will return a 404 status or, where appropriate, redirect to a parent archive page.
- We will not change the publish date of a post to make it appear more recent than it is. The publish date and the modified date are tracked separately and shown clearly on every post.
- We will not negotiate corrections in exchange for any kind of payment, favour, or backlink.
- We will not remove correctly reported information about a recruitment irregularity that is already in the public record, unless the report itself is shown to be factually wrong.
