    Where and how to apply for Indian Railway jobs after completing B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) degree?

    sir/ mam,
    i m doing my b.tech (mechanical engineering) from maharishi
    markandeshwar university,mullana(ambala) HARYANA.
    I want to be recruited in in companies and get placed.
    i strongly prefer indian railways.
    so please guide me to the right way. where and when should i apply for railways jobs...

    There are various posts in Railway for Mechanical Engineering. Like: Technical Engineer, Assistant Engineer, Additional General Manager, Assistant Station Master, Transport Assistant, Jr. Engineer, Assistant Master, and you have better opportunities cause there is wide scope in your future so you can get job very easily and there should be 60% marks.

    hello friend see its good that you want to go in this field but for it you have to give engineering service examination conducted by UPSC.It is the civil service exam


    The eligibility of this exam is:
    candidate should be Indian citizen
    age: 21 to 30 years
    candidate should have minimum qualification of bechelor degree incorporated by central or state university.
    Every candidate appearing at the Civil Services Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted four attempts at the examination
    Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Civil Services Examination
    The following posts in Indian railways are filled through the exam:
    (i) Indian Railway Service of Engineers.
    (ii) Indian Railway Stores Services (Civil Engineering Posts).

    Qualification : BE/B.Tech with more than 70% marks from a recognized university

    And take a printout of the application that obtained in the website

    After b.tech mechanical engg there is scope for you to go in indian railways
    recently all the RRB's have declared vacancies , detail of which is available in the "employment news" dated 10/3/2012....
    the eligibilty is b.tech degree and the detailed split up of seats can be had in the respective RRB's........

    Recently there is vacancy for the post of Sr Section Engineer for Civil,Mechanical and Electrical engineer.The last date to apply is 9th April 2012.You have to apply to all the RRBs as per the advertisement.You need to pay Rupees 60 for each posts through Postal Order/Bank Draft..The application procedure is offline so it is better to apply at the earliest..You can visit freshersworld.com for advertisement and forms download.

    actually, for the candidates who have completed m.tech more government jobs .
    as you specially mentioned that , you are from mechanical engineering branch , so, you will have many technical jobs in different core companies like ,
    drdo
    isro
    iocl
    mtnl
    ongc
    sail,etc. . .

    yes, you will have technical posts in indian railway s too.
    it is a good option by choosing railway departemnt exams .

    in final you can write , rrb exams
    rrb exams is railway recrutiment board exams
    as you are from b.tech , if you are passed in the exam , then you will have technical post
    it is good for you to have 55% in your b.tech to apply for the exam

    I am 4th yr. Student of b.tech mechanical engg..which are the posts we can get and what is the syllabus for section engg,assitant technical engg.
