    Civil engineering is one of the finest and oldest branches of engineering.In India, civil engineering is growing with a fast pace giving a lot of opportunities to the freshers.
    Civil engineering provides ample opportunities in various fields.There is huge demand for civil engineers in India and it is also expected to get a boost as the country gets ready to upgrade its infrastructure with growing economic and political clout in the world.The career opens a lot of opportunities in numerous government departments.There are equally good opportunities in the private sector for civil engineers.
    Generally, engineers in this field are employed in construction projects which is been carried out by the government. These projects mainly involves public development works like airports, highways, sewage boards and railways.A Civil Engineer is responsible for planning and designing a project and then having it constructed to the required scale. A major opening for qualified civil engineers is also in armed forces where they can make vital contribution to the protection of the country.Engineers from this field can also work in research and teaching. They can also start their own business and provide services of construction, design and maintenance.

    Job Prospects in Abroad-
    Indian engineers are in high demand in Asia, Africa and the middle-east. Those graduating from IITs also manage jobs in developed countries. The employment opportunities abroad are very appealing but sometimes it also carries a certain amount of risk. For instance, Indian engineers involved in construction work in Afghanistan have been repeatedly targeted by terrorists. So the decision to go abroad should be taken after considering all the possible scenarios and your won priorities in life and career.

    My brother is studying in B.E. I year civil engineering in Chandrapur Government College Of Engineering. He had opted for college change so now he is getting B.Tech civil engineering in Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological university (BATU) Lonere. so should he move to BATU or not. I mean B.Tech in Civil engineering would be good choice or not . Please reply
