    dear frd..IAS is the administrative portion of the Indian Government.
    It comprises of administrative jobs like - Secretary to PM, CM, Aviation, Revenue etc.
    The IAS belongs to the All India Services category in the civil service
    where as the IES is the Technical Services portion of the Indian Government.
    Though both are Government services, the former is the administration sector and the latter is the technical sector.
    so always powers for IAS r more compared to IES...

    Well IAS is a governing body of a district.you can also be appointed to the jobs in cabinet ministry or appointed as a Secretary to PM,Cabinet Ministers.

    It stands for the India Administrative Service.
    IAS officers are mainly concerned with the administration duties.
    They are required for mantaining the bureaucracy of the Central and State Governments.
    IAS officers are mainly employed in departments such asIndian Railway Service,India nRevenue Department, Indian Audit and Account Services etc.
    They do administrative jobs like- Sectretary to the PM, CM, cabinet minisers, Revenue

    Hi,
    IAS is the Indian Administrative Service. This is conducted by UPSC.
    Any graduates can apply for this exam.
    your powers will be depending on your posting They can posted under state or central government on various administrative positions.
    depending on your rank, you might even be the government nominee on the board of directors of some public sector corporation.
    You will get security guard posts behind CM, PM etc.

    After clearing exams conducted by UPSC for IAS & IPS you will be selected in government sector based on your result so powers are totally depend on the post/ rank that you will get...

    IAS exam is conducted by UPSC and it stands for Indian Administrative Service.
    One who clear the exam gets posted in the non-technical branch of the Indian Government.
    He/She looks after the Revenue aspects of the country.They are also employed in Income Tax department and are also employed in Indian railways at a higher post.

    my dear friend an indian administrative officer has been given a power of atorny to control even a state govt administrative works....at a glance..and depending on your performance once you can be the one of the state/central govt board of directors...
    and similarly an IPS officer can make control over state or even central police security.....depending upon his/her posts...

    tasks of ias and ips officers are as follows................. most of the work will be administrative in nature .. but for u brief understanding these are the following tasks

    planning
    policy formulation
    implementation
    supervision
    assessment
    providing information
    representing government of india

    the above tasks are performed for the welfare of the people in the society

    IAS is a civil service post.Power and position depends upon their postings.They can be posted under state or central government on various administrative or on administrative positions.

    Registration of FIR.

    Investigation of the cases, arrest of the accused, recovery of stolen property challaning of the cases and prosecution.

    Recording report regrding missing persons and children and tracing them.

    Granting permission for loud speakers rallies, political religious function.

    Checking of banks

    Providing documents for filling claim in motor accident claim tribunal.

    Providing guards for the transportation of cash, if required, as per police rules.

    IAS : Indian Administrative Service


    IPS : Indian Police Service


    These two are Indian Civil Services done by Indian Nationals only, after clearing a entrance exam called UPSC Civil Service Exam.


    After clearing that exam according to the applicants interest or vacant posts he/she are called IAS officer or IPS officer.


    For these officers the salary structure will be given below please have a look.


    first of all before knowing about salarys of these officers. you should know about scales.


    The IAS/IPS officer after his posting he will be categorized into different scales depending on his seniority and experience.
