IT and IT IS(Freshers) :-

The candidate need to completed graduate degree or post graduate degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and the graduate degree in B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc(CSE/IT/Software Engineering) or B.SC,B.C.A,M.Sc(expect computer science/IT/Software Engineering).

BPO' :-

The candidate must be any arts & science graduate expect B.Sc - IT/CS,Electronics,Mathematics & Statistics of a recognized University or equivalent qualification and the candidate must secure at least 50% aggregate marks in X,XII and graduation.Hotel Management & MBA graduate also eligible to apply for this examination.

Cognizant keeps its criteria as 60% in academics throughout,i.e. 60% or more in 10th,12th and in graduation.Candidates with current backlogs and with a year gap of more than 1 year in intermediate and graduation starting,are not allowed to appear.Most of the IT companies have these criteria in general but some may vary slightly especially the year gap for some institutes.

To be elligible to sit for the placement in cognizant you have to have first class marks in your 10th and +2 and your aggregate marks in B.tech should not be less than 70% . See criteria of Cognizant is mainly 60% all through. Also you cannot have any pending backlogs in your academic career when you will be joining the company.
This means that your every academical qualification must be either equal or more than 60%. I must tell you one thing here that even then in some cases while in pool campus placements sometimes Cognizant allows 55% or above percentage, but that is allowed for graduation percentage only. For 10th and 12th standards the percentage
criteria remains same. So there nothing can be done.
But what one can do is he or she can go for Wipro or IBM Daksh(Call Center) or ICCIA. There cut-off criteria would not be so much of a problem. But programming technologies must be known very well for, especially Wipro and ICCIA and also any other smaller software company one joins. So even if TCS or Infosys does not take a candidate it does not matter much. If people know programming languages then any other software company will be easily available and percentage would not be an issue.

You should have over 60% in your 10,12 and engineering to be eligible for Cognizant.You should not have a gap of more than 1year in education and there should not be any pending backlogs.You also should have good communication skills which will help you in getting through the interview alongwith good technical skills especially in any of the programming language.

CTS - Cognizant Technology Solution

* Minimum of 60% marks in 10th standard.
* Minimum of 60% marks in 12th standard.
* Minimum of 60% marks in graduation.
* Not more than two year gap between your academics

These are the standard criteria put forward by the top level software companies.
As of now, CTS is third among the top IT companies in India.

Academic Qualification

Most of the graduates are confused about the criteria which says the candidate should have a minimum of 60% through out the academics. There are some graduates who have more than 70% in graduation but less than 60 in basic education.
