    What are the duties or responsibilities, basic skills and qualification needed for an IT officer in Public Sector Banks of India?

    Hi everyone,

    Please provide me the responsibilities or duties for an IT officer in the public sector banks, India. What are the basic skills and qualification needed for this job. Any Software field experience is required for this job. Do I need to learn hardware also. what is nature of IT officer Job. Please help me.

    Hi Buddy,

    Electronics and Communication Engineers is a stream which provides plenty of job opportunities in making a good career, you can find jobs in all the majority of the sectors like public sector, private sector, banking, etc...



    Public Sector :

    In Public sector you can apply for government jobs such as

    1. ECIL
    2. BSNL (JTO)
    3. NTPC
    4. BEl
    5. IOCL
    6. Civil Services Examination

    You will be required to attempt the written examinations for the various posts in above mentioned sectors.

    Private Sector :

    In private sector you are eligible to apply for jobs related to your stream as well as for the software jobs also some of the private sector and software jobs are

    1. Semiconductor, IC Design and manufacturers Industries (MIC electronics, SR electronics, etc..)
    2. Manufacturing Phone and Electronics Board designs(Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony, etc..)
    3. Infosys
    4. Mahindra Satyam
    5. TCS
    6. CTS
    7. Wipro
    8. Infotech
    9. Delloit
    10. IBM

    Similar to public sectors all these companies conduct written examination followed by group discussions, technical assessment, Hr Interview. You are suppose to clear all the rounds in order to get a job.

    Banking :

    ECE people also have scope of securing jobs at banking level, there are both public and private sector banks some of them are

    1. SBI
    2. SBH
    3. Andhra Bank
    4. Syndicate Bank
    5. ICICI
    6. HDFC
    7. Kotak Mahindra
    8. IDFC

    There will be various posts for which these banks conduct examinations and absorb talented students who are eligible by clearing the test.

    Apart from these public sector, private sector, banking jobs, you also have the option of moving into research side jobs there are a few organisations which offer jobs to students on merit and high technical knowledge students. some of the organisations are

    If you have passed B-tech or BE , you want to got a jobs in IT field and Banking field,
    first of all you will be do some courses for got a jobs in IT Company,
    *list of courses for IT company.....
    PLC SCADA
    AUTOMATION
    VLSI
    VHDL etc
    Then you can try some IT company,

    *Jobs possibilities in Banking field...........
    PO Exam
    Clerical Jobs
    Computer assistant
    Software manager

    Religare
    India Infoline
    Reliance
    SERI infrastructure


    *ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BANK PO EXAM.........
    But if you can fulfill the given below criteria
    You must be completed your graduation with minimum 55% marks,
    NOTE- Sc/St candidate -50%

    you must passed with 10th and 12th with 50%,

    Your age should be in between 20 to 30 years,

    *ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BANK CLERK EXAM............
    You must be completed 10+2 with any stream . But you 10+2 percentage must be above 55.

    AGE- Your age should be between 18 to 28 years
    NOTE-The age relaxation for Both cases are For SC/ST candidate- 5 years,
    For OBC candidate - 3 years

    There are two types of jobs which you can see in banks namely
    1. Bank PO
    2. Bank clerical exam
    The eligibility criteria differs from bank-bank.The eligibility criteria needed for these two jobs are given below:


    >>> Eligibility criteria for Bank PO:
    1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
    2. The candidates must a age limit of 21-30 years.
    3. The candidate must have got a degree from a recognized university with 60% aggregate.Some bank prefer for 55% aggregate.
    4. The candidates must know about computers and must have a knowledge on how to operate MS office.
    >>> Eligibility criteria for Bank Clerical:
    1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
    2. The candidate must have a age limit of 18-28 years.And relaxation age limit is there for SC/ST/OBC/PH and Ex-service men.
    3. The candidate must have a degree from a recognized university with 60% aggregate and for SC/ST/PH candidates it is 55%.It varies from bank-bank.
    From this you could know what job you can take and whether you are eligible for it.
