    Dear Guest,

In India, GSM technology works in the frequency bands of 900 and 1800MHz and CDMA works in the frequency band of 800MHz.

The basic difference between the two is as under.

CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access): Has a Data rate of 144 Kbit/sec and a Connection limit of up to 2000 subscribers to the system. Connection of 6 tо 32 subscriber stations up to a Maximum communication range of 30 km.

There is one physical channel and a special code for every device in the coverage network. Using this code, the signal of the device is multiplexed, and the same physical channel is used to send the signal.

GSM standard (Groupe Spécial Mobile): Can support 900/1800 Interfaces on RS-232 serial port, and USB allowing support for maximum number of subscribers to be served from one terminal of 4/8 Measurements - 40x225x165 mm .

Every cell has a corresponding network tower, which serves the mobile phones in that cellular area.

I hope this clarifies your doubts to some extent.
