Re: What are the chances of selection with 157 marks in IBPS exam?

You should have mentioned the state/Union Territory you belong to.Then it would have been much easier to say what are the exact chances because different states have produced different results and have different population,so the cutoff for all states are not same.If you belong to -
    Arunachal Pradesh,Andaman & Nicobar,Assam,Dadra & Nagar Haveli,Goa,Gujarat,Karnataka,Maharashtra,Manipur,M eghalaya,Nagaland,Sikkim,Tamilnadu and Tripura

you have good chances of getting selected as the cutoff score for these regions is below 157 keeping in mind the cutoff list given by Bank of Baroda for different States and Union Territories. But even the vacancies are less,so you have to give your interview well.

Dear friend 157 marks in IBPS exam is not a good marks ....I told you that all banks have their different cut off list and according to that cut off list they can select the candidates ...Mostly in govt. sector banks the cut off list is mainly 160 marks or higher than 160 marks ....But with your 157 marks you can also apply for the Govt. sector banks maybe you have selected...
But if you don't selected than don't worry you have option to go for the private sector banks here are so many private sector banks where you can get a good job.."
You can apply for the following of banks:
    ICICI bank
    Axis bank
    Kenara bank
    HDFC bank
    Maharastra bank
    IDBI bank
    Sindh bank
    Oriental bank.
    Or etc..........

Cutoff marks for IBPS bank PO and clerical exams:

IN IBPS Bank PO and clerical exam, cut off is depends on

    1)
number of students taken the exam 2.number of students qualified
    3.number of posts
    4.Difficulty of exam paper
Depending upon the above mentioned 4 factors, cutoff marks will decide.

It is rough estimation by the experts

Minimum Marks Needed for Short Listed for Personality Test

if there are Number of Vacancy: 1000+

for General category candidates minimum marks requried : 145-150

for OBC candidates minimum marks requried: 135-145

for SC candidates minimum marks requried: 125-130

for ST candidates minimum marks requried: 115-120

But if Number of Vacancy <500

for General catergory candidates minimum marks requried: 170

for OBC candidates minimum marks requrie: 150-160

for SC: candidates minimum marks requrie135-140

for ST candidates minimum marks requrie: 120.

So above information what i mentioned may be useful

Re: What are the chances of selection with 157 marks in IBPS exam?

Chances of selection depends upon these factors:
    • Your location
    • Your marks
    • Time of the vacancy.

    Effect of region:
Now we know that in some states of india competition is very high.
As a result here the chances of getting the ibps jobs are very less.
You have to score very high marks in both interview as well as in the written exam.
Following locations are somewhat safe when it comes to competition.
    Arunachal Pradesh,Andaman & Nicobar,Dadra & Nagar Haveli,Goa,Gujarat,Karnataka,Maharashtra.

    Coming to the marks.
It is known to everyone that higher you score higher are your chances of getting the job.

    Effect of time of vacancy:
Talking about time of vacancy. If the above two factors are not in your favour then may this help you.
If the vacancy is declared at the starting of the year then all those candidates who have scored high will apply for the post and your chances for getting the call will be very small.
On the other hand if the vacancy is declared at the end of the year then all such candidates would already have got job and chances will be very high.

Hence i will advise you to look for the vacancy at the end of the year but also try for time now.

    Hi,

Your score is good and sufficient enough to get interview calls. Prepare well for interview and update your banking knowledge and current affairs.

Be confident to face tough competition and grab the opportunity.

    All the best

Re: What are the chances of selection with 157 marks in IBPS exam?

The candidates who have got marks in the range of 160-177 are sure to get interview calls from good banks. As you have got 157, you have little chances of getting a call from the top banks. You have not mentioned the category to which you belong, because a lot depends on that thing.
You should start preparing for the interview because it carries 100 marks and you need to get qualifying marks(50%) in the interview to finally get selected for emplyment in the bank.

Re: What are the chances of selection with 157 marks in IBPS exam?

Dear friend, different banks have different cutoff list .so, i am not say that its good or bad. after appearing written exam there is a merit list are shown in which if other candidate have more marks then you.then he/she will be selected.so do more hard work for getting more marks.its known every one that who secured higher score they will get job easily.and also chances depend on your:- -location -your marks -time vacancy in today ,competitive exam are lots, person who are more capability to clear that exam they will be selected for job.for that you must have knowledge about current affairs and lots of confidence you have.must important think is more work hard.
