What is the age limit for Non Law Enforcement Federal jobs?

Just read on this forum that the age limits for federal jobs is no younger than 18 no older than 30. But the OPM webiste stated the upper age limit is 35 - 37 for law enformement jobs. What could possibly be the rationale for eliminating people in there 30's and 40's from the applicant pool? Also, wouldn't this practice invite law suites based on age discrimination?

    Hello friend....

Generally applicants for most federal jobs must be at least 18 years old of atleast 16 years old.

Some positions like those in law enforcement have a maximum entry age and age may vary from agency to agency but generally falls with in the range 34 years to 37 years.

Please review the job opportunity announcement or call the agency directly to find out the specific information about the job of interest to you.

    Hope this may help you....
