Is it true that PSU's like BHEL, SAIL, GAIL fill seats with GATE?

Recently i herd that PSUs like BHEL, SAil, Gail will fill their seats with GATE only....

yes, you have the right information that the pSU's now hiring the candidates on the basis of GATE. but its not only the GATE, you have to appear for the exams that are conducted by the organisation and then they shortlist you on the basis of GATE. if you are appearing or appeared for GATE exam, you have a plus point. you have to also mention your GATE registration no while applying for the PSU's.

yah it is true and last date of apply gate exam is 17 october then u got an unique id that u have to use in bhel,sail,gail when u apply on that careers you can see this vacancies in freshersworld .com and u can apply for gate exam online the charges is 1030rs for gen and 500 for st/sc. https://gate2012.iitd.ac.in/ here u can fill

Yes every PSU do recruit on the basis of GATE score......the number of recruitment done on this basis is very less and different for different PSU's a merit list is prepared of candidates applying through GATE score and the top rankers are called for interview.....

hi yes its very much true,from next year onward the following public sector companies are going to call the candidates for direct interview based on the gate examination ,the name of these companies are as follows :
1.NATIONAL THERMAL POWER COOPERATION LIMITED
2.POWER GRID COOPERATION LIMITED
3.INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LIMITED
there can be many others who can announce that even they will call people for interview on the basis of the gate score and hence doing really well in the gate examination id very important this year

Yes really it is true.but not all psu's.but some psu's like BHEL,IOCL,NTPC,POWER GRID,GAIL,SAIL.The last date for applying gate is october 12th 2011.And the last date for registration in the psu's is in the month of january and febraury 2012.

Yes it is true that PSUs have started considering GATE score for the screening process. Once you have your registration number you can register/apply to these org (whenever they seek applications) online using your GATE reg no.
You will be called for further selection process on the basis of your score and other criteria depending upon the org mgmt.

yes it is true & is now compulsory for applying in PSU... you have to first apply for GATE where you will get an exclusive registration number... that number will be used by the PSU as a reference... PSU will call you on the basis of marks obtained in GATE for interview....

At last weightage will be 75% for GATE score & 25% for interview performance...

As of now BHEL have asked applications from the engineering graduates....

Only Bhel and Gail announced that they are consider the persons only the basis of gate score.

But the other PSU exams are not declared the GATE avability.

So don't be confused about that.

Yes, recently BHEL and NTPC announced the job vacancies for B.Tech students. They are recruiting the candidates through the GATE score.
If you want apply for these government companies you need to qualify the GATE exam then only you can go for interview.
If you qualified in GATE exam you can directly go for interview no need to write the written test.
To apply for these companies you need to register for GATE exam.

No it’s not essential , these companies are looking for bright candidates that’s the reason most of the companies eligibility for applying is minimum 65% of marks..... You might get a chance in BHEL because sometimes it does ask for only 60%... even education is just for an qualification,you have to prove your skill while in interview and you have nearly 65% weitage goes in interview..if your aggregate is not 65% in Engg. then you should go for GATE Exam…All the Best!!

Dear Friend, Yes it is true that BHEL, GAIL, SAIL, NTPC, HP, ONGC etc companies are recruiting on the basis of GATE Scores.
You will join them as a Trainee and after that as a JE.
But before That you have to qualify for the GATE exam 2012.

YEs its true. you can check in newspaper also it is mentioned. this is a plus point that u can get into these companies through gate bt its not a compulsion u can also appear in their seprate examination.

SAIL or GAIL took their own exams..But from this coming year NTPC,BHEL,IOCL are recruiting through GATE and abolished their own written tests..They will call candidates for GD and Interview based on GATE Score.IOCL is doing it since last many years but NTPC and BHEL have started since this year.

ofcourse its true.. but not all the PSUs ,those u mentioned.. to my knowledge, BHEL, IOCL,NTPC are hiring through GATE.. also please note that after clearing GATE interview process will be there... also note that these PSUs may set a higher cut off for GATE score than actual cut off mentioned by IIT DELHI ( wahich is conducting GATE 2012).... leading newspapers published advertisements regarding this PSUs hiring through GATE.. u can still find those advertisements in websites like freshersworld.com and also in the respective PSU websites..

YES my dear frd it is true NTPC,ONGC,BHEL,SAIL etc PSU's recruiting next year with gate score.With your GATE 2012 Rank card you can directly opt for the interview conducted by these PSU's.All you have to do is get well prepared for GATE 2012 and secure a good rank below 1000 meanwhile register your gate hall ticket number in the above mentioned PSU official websites on or before JAN 2012..after gate results are announced they will make a merit list depending upon gate scores..if you are short listed then you can directly attend the Interview without any written test.

Yeah...... its been totally true that these organisation include the GATE score card into their recruitment process. After qualifying the GATE with good scores only able to get into these organisation.
