In banking sector sector there is now a common written tests followed by Interview
This Common Written as well as Interview is conducted by IBPS
IBPS conducts this test on behalf of 20 nationalised banks

Eligibilty is Graduation pass for both the posts
Now next written tests notifications will come out in the year 2013
You can visit the website of IBPS www.ibps.in

Since you are a CSE BTECH graduate, you can also apply for the IBPS Specialist Officers exams.
You can apply for the IT Officer Scale 1 exams of the Government banks.

But i would suggest that right now you should join a job and just dont sit idle at home.
Prepare for these exams along with your job.
Once you get through the banks than you can join the bank

    HELLO..

I would say it totally depend on you whether you chose banking sector or software industry..

In the banking sector you will get job security but in software industry there is no job security but there are high salary benefits..

But as per your details you are a CSE students so you should go for the software industry..
This is so because your qualification will be helpful in the software industry..

    dear aspirant,
you have not mentioned any of your aggregate.if you have a aggregate of above 65% then you could apply for both the bank jobs as well as software jobs.first of you decide you gonna fit to work.if you are having less knowledge about software subjects then you better work hard on bank jobs.if you feel accounts and all tough to you shift for software job.if you are capable of both the skills then try for both which gets first approved would be your first choice.you can also compare in terms of working hours and salary and growth .analyse yourselves by proper research.i suggest you to take bank job as they are predictable and risk free.

    thank u

Hi friend, there are many oppertunities for cse engineering graduates to gej a job in government sector and in software companies...To apply for job in banking sector or in software side is depends on your talent and willingness...If you have good programming skills and communication skills then it is better to go in the software field because they will offer very good salary and also you can learn more about the newthings...Otherwise you can go in banking industry side as PO or IT OFFICER...all the best...

Yes you can go for both sectors.....
After completing your CSE engineering you can take some civil service exam like if you want to go for the banking sector than you can take the IBPS exam and apply for the govt. sector banking jobs ...or to getting job in software companies they have their own Entrance exam and according to that exam's cut off list they can select the candidates....thank you

Re: Should i go for Banking sector or Software Industry after B.Tech in CSE?

    Hi there,
My answer will be a complete NO to you. Why do you want to go for petty banking jobs, where you can do a lot in the software industry. Also you have B.Tech and that too
in computer science and engineering. You according to the syllabus of B.tech, will have no or little idea about banking and commerce. If you do not have a clear idea about
these, then even if getting the job is easy, maintaining the job will not be. Also in the interview you will have to be prompt with the banking questions and accounts questions.
Now you decide yourself. I think for you definitely the IT jobs will be better. In IT jobs you can join as the programmer. If you prove to be good, then you will be shifted to either higher designations. Not to mention that the salary will increase and also your chances for any kind of abroad exchange programs will also increase. This all will
require a lot of hard work. So you can guess that in comparison to banking works, you have to almost put double the effort. But the gain in the end is also double, if not more. So in my opinion go for your college campus placements and choose the company that suits you the best.

Re: Should i go for Banking sector or Software Industry after B.Tech in CSE?

    Hello Friend,
As you did B.tech in Computer science you had bright future in software field if you had scored some good percentage rather than Banking sector if for doing a job in bank then why to study B.tech in computer science field. Anyway that's up to you in which field your had more interest then jump into that field. As far in my way of thinking software industry is more better than Banking sector. As in both fields you need to be improve your communication skills.

IF you choose an IT industry there will be going to offer some decent jobs like PROGRAMMER,SYSTEM ANALSYT, SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION and also some other jobs as you got knowledge in this field so it will be better to go this side.
you have opportunities in both public and private sectors. The companies which offers you job were:

    TCS
    WIPRO
    SATYAM
    IBM
etc..., Many other software companies and you can also be self employed by learning some programming languages and other designing languages and helps in creating your own industry.

As in Banking sector your going to Take some posts like Manager, accounts officers and field is related with accountants and it will be some uneasy for person without knowing accountants. so, i suggest you first try in software industry surely you will be successful if had around 65% then it will better. And the government of india also offers some of software jobs in government field. To make a job build up your resume and keep it over the internet and see employment news for the any of post that suits your profile.

Hope the information helpful to you, Thank you.
