i'm OBC candidate......i got 236 gate score...is there any chance to be called for interview in any PSU...??

those who are saying "90%" can you please clarify 90% of what?? Is it percentile you are talking about or percentage of the highest or of total marks... if its of total marks then I reckon nobody will get a call from electrical at least because electrical went for a alltime dip this year, a total of 50 in 100, fetched about 200 rank, so please mention % of what?

Actually the cutoff marks to qualify GATE examination varies Year to year.

And the cutoff marks also varies according to streams In this year

cutoff marks for IT engineering students is nearly 30.And others is 25.

To get job in BHEL you should ranked between 1000 to 1500.

Recently BHEL announced the 800 posts for fresher.
Eligibility: Graduate Engineers
Location:New Delhi, All over India
Age limit:27 years for graduate Engineers and 29 years for PG in Engineering.
BHEL is taking only GATE-2012 candidates.
So apply for GATE-2012 after that you will get a registration number using this number you can apply for BHEL. from 04/01/2012 onwards you can apply for BHEL exam at the BHEL website only after registration in GATE-2011
But you have to qualify the GATE-2012 exam then only you are eligible for further rounds otherwise you are not eligible for this post.
Application fee:RS.500/-

The cut off marks in GATE for joining BHEL varies from year to year ,on the basis of the highest percentage of the candidates .

Each year the aauthorities design the system to declare a list of the candidates on the basis of the cut off marks , and these will onlt take the rest of the recruitment rounds.

hii friends..as BHEL already mentioned that they are going to call 3 students for a single post for the interviews..so for ME as the case mine is, they will be calling students upto max 2200 AIR..the lower limit will depend upon the number of OBC candidates falling in that range..so all the students including me(4200 AIR IN ME) should stop waiting for BHEL results and should start preparing for other PSUs..i hope this helps..

see its not possible to predict the cutt off marks
because it depends on the candidates
giving the exam.every year new candidates give the exam so the competition level is different every year

the only thing i can tell you regarding your question is that BHEL is a big government unit
so if you expect to get entry in this company then its sure that you have to get a good score in the gate exam

As you want to apply for a job at the University of Prince Sultan, such as ONGC, NTPC, BHEL, IOCL, then you have to appear in the exam the first written test, conducted at the University of Prince Sultan separately ..
But applying for a job in IOCL must appear in the exam the gate, and you have to perform well at the gate, because IOCL exam does not make any written test, students are hired on the basis of the degree of GATE ..
Prince Sultan University students employ the other on the basis of the result in which the written test conducted by the self ..
If you have a good degree of portal then you can apply for IOCL ..
But for Prince Sultan University for in the other you have to go through the written test ... There is no fixed cutofff This year, do not go in history as there was a huge rush of GATE candidates, mainly also for PSUs. In an attempt to get your best good score, regardless of whether you belong to the public or filler or atheist, and so based on the good marks written in the gate there can be relaxed a little, even if you have a low score in GD or PI

last year bhel recruitment was not done through gate,so dont tell anything which u r not sure off.

what is expected date of shorylisting candidates for bhel and ntpc

definately u are a good scorer. your branch is tough and u have actually scored good marks....thts really appreciating...u just apply in bhel and other psu's like ntpc and iocl.

the cut off marks are different for different streams and the marks varies from year to year according to the pattern and the quality of the questions.

and the main thing is that first you have to apply for the BHEL after getting the admit card and after publishing the gate result they will call you for their written examination by merit listing the candidates through the gate score.

after successfully cracking their written exam you have to clear the P.I then you will absorbed as trainee engineer in their sector.

For st category gate score 407 is good enough............

As you belong to SC category so just need to score more than 45% marks of the maximum marks. You will be able to apply for GATE 2013 as GATE 2012 is off now.

Hi sir u told 1:3 candidates will call for interview but almost top rankers going to iit n nit colleges n others places. I not understand u will call those top rankers , if u call 1:3 from top ranking suppose top rankers will not come to interview easily get a job in the ratio of 1:3 called candidates.Because less candidate atenned the interview,therfore u think about that matter. My request is if some top rankers not come to interview please dont conduct avilable candidates, u once again call others low rank candidates.

minimum passing marks in GATE is 40% in each section separately....

if you some how manages to clear by 40% in all sections then also it is not confirmed that whether you will be called by BHEL or not... it depends on the performance of other students too....

there is no fix cut off marks in GATE score..... it depends on the performance of the stuff given the GATE exam....
