Is it possible to enter in Software Industry after working as Lecturer? Whether teaching experience is counted in sofwatre industry or not?

    Dear Sir
I have passed my B.E. from APEEJAY in 2009. Since Oct. 2009 i am working as a lecturer in Satya College of Engg. & Tech. Now i want to come in the industry. But the problem is that the companies are not recruiting the 2009 batch students. the companies are not counting my teaching experience and I have no experience of industry job. So suggest me what should i do to get the job in industry.

See in the initials don't look for the top MNC'S in india as there is a huge applicants rush in that , look for some firm which considers you as a fresher, and to get a job in the IT section of the IT sector you should have a technical degree in CSE. Along with the technical degree you should also have the knowledge of programming languages like java, .net as they are in demand now a days , you should also have an idea of graphics and should be comfortable with web and window programming . As you are working as a lecturer hence you be not familiar with all these. So before searching for any kind of job in IT sector go for some certificate course like diploma in java or .net from institutions like NIIT, CDAC, APTECH , and if you prove to be a good student over there then you might get placement in their very own campus , but if not recruited over there then having this diploma certificate with you , you would gain preference in comparison to other applicant's who don't have this. once you get in any IT firm and gain work experience over there then , you would prove to be the highest contender in the crowd of fresher applicant as a person with experience is given preference in front of fresher applicant.

IT IS BETTER TO GO FOR SMALL COMPANIES AT THIS STAGE .
IT IS BECAUSE , YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED ALONG WITH 2010 , 2011 FRESHERS IN MNC COMAPNIES
    IT WILL AFFECT YOU .
SO, IT IS BETTER TO LOOK AFTER SOME SMALL COMPANIES BY PERFECTLY PREPARING YOUR PROJECT WORK , RESPONSIBILITIES ON IT , etc..

BE WELL PREPARED IN YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLS
HAVE A GOOD KNOWLEDGE AT YOUR COURSE or DOMAIN .

BUT , THE EXPERIENCE IN TEACHING FIELD WILL NOT BE USEFULL FOR YOU IN IT SOFTWARE SECTOR

    Dear Concern,

you can go in software industry but the main problem is your teaching experience will be counted as experience and this problem is not only yours this is with every one who wants go in any industry after teaching job.

but you should try timely and you can do one thing you can check out the vacancies in Private companies as well as some govt jobs are also in news and PSU's are also hiring candidates from technical background.

    Best of Luck

I will suggest you to go for small IT companies my friend not for the Big and well reputed companies because there are very little chances of your selection in those companies. You can work for some years in those small IT companies and perform well and get Experience. Once you are experienced enough then you can go for Big names and companies in the IT field.
I am sorry to say that your teaching experience will go in vain when we are talking about IT sector.
So best of luck my Friend.

from my notice i feel you should go and make your career in broking firm only because 3 years of broking experienced will be totally wasted.
if you do some courses in IT field you will get a job in IT field. but there should be specific and powerful reasons of changing the field totally. if you give a powerful reasons than you will get jobs in IT field. But you have to do courses like CCNA,CCNP,JAVA,.NET,ORACLE,LINUX,etc.
this type of courses are very technical,so you have to do hardwork for getting a practical knowledge in IT field

    Dear Friend

Yes it is possible to enter the software industry after doing the teaching job..

But your teaching experience is not counted there so it is of no use u will be treated as a FRESHER only.

At first you should go for the small software companies and after gaining the experience you can go for the reputed companies like tcs, infosys etc..

    Best of Luck

The teaching experience will not be counted for industrial job. The teaching job and industrial job is different. In teaching job there will be no practical Experience. For industrial job or company job practical experience is very important. So it will be very difficult for transferring your job from teaching to company job. But it does not mean that you will never be able to work in a company. What you can do is that you can just join some company for a less salary and attain some experience and after getting the required experience you can very will get job in good companies.

Even then I don't know why you are changing your job since teaching job is better than company job. Since the engineering colleges are very high in india there will be so many vacancy for teaching post and now a day teachers are getting more salary compared to the company job.

hence things 10 times for a change.
