Dear Friend, yes of course you can join the merchant navy course and you are absolutely eligible for it. The minimum requirement for join merchant navy is 10 + 2 with PCM with at least 50% marks. You have to sit for the exam conducted by UPSC if you get good score then only you get selected. You can join the graduation courses meant for the deck cadets or shipping agents.There are institutes like MERI,Mumbai, MERI,Kolkata, T.S Chanakya, Navi Mumbai etc..,where you can pursue the courses.

There will be 2 year course for Diploma Holders and successful completion you will be join merchant in either of departments

Very good Percentage you have got in your Diploma & you can join Merchant Navy and you are eligible for it.
But still you will have to sit for the exam conducted by UPSC.
Some of the Public sector organization offering training is MERI, Lal bahadur shastri college of advanced Maritime Studies and research. Training ship Chanakya, etc. You should a good health and a sound mental health to join Merchant Navy,. Career in Merchant Navy can be pursued either as an officer or a rating in mainly two specialized fields, i.e. Marine Engineering and Nautical (deck).

to become a officers youa have to need the followin eligibility:
Officers

1. 3 year degree course in Nautical Science for (10+2) students.
   
2. 4 year degree course in Marine Engineering for (10+2) students.
3. 2 year course for Diploma Holders.
4. 1 year course for Graduate Mechanical Engineers.
5. 3 month course for Deck Cadets for (10+2) students.
   

## AGE LIMIT: you must not be more than 20 years. 5 years relaxtion for the SC/ST caste.



Govt training Institutes : There are four Government Training Institutes providing Pre-Sea and Post-Sea training of international standard :
