Re: Need details of GATE and IES exams? Where can i get job through IES exam? How much time is required to prepare for these exams?

    Plan for GATE Exam:
From your Final year of B.Tech you can apply for this exam in your stream ECE. This is the entrance to take admission in the M.Tech course. OR, now a days the top ranked companies like NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, IOCL etc are recruiting through GATE score.

The GATE examination consists of a single paper of 3 hours duration which contains 65 questions carrying a maximum of 100 marks. The question paper will consist of only objective questions including your Technical Subjects, Quantitative, Reasoning, English etc.

Now as you are in 3rd year, you can appear for this exam in 2014.
Generally the syllabus for GATE, you can think up to 5th semester but a lot of questions you can find from higher sems like questions from VLSI, from Adv. Comm etc.
This exam is most important for you in finding core jobs as well as Higher Study.

    Plan for IES:
The Indian Engineering Services Examination is a dream for thousands of candidates appear in every year. You will have to work in the various Engineering job sector of Govt. after achieving success in this exam.

The Engineering Services Exam includes two parts:
    1. The Preliminary Examination (objective type), which is a screening test,
    2. Main Examination consisting of written examination and interview.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) organizes the Preliminary Examination in May/June and the Main Examination is held in October/November. The notification for the Preliminary Examination is published in December every year.
You have to complete your Graduation in ECE to apply for this exam.

You have to apply Online by using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in OR you can find the official notification & details in the official site http://www.upsc.gov.in

Now I am providing you some tips for preparation for these exams:
    1. You can take admission in good coaching institute like GATE ACADEMY, TARGET, GATEFORUM etc for both GATE as well as IES. They will provide you good study material
& if you can follow their guide, then you can crack the exams.

    2. If you are interested in self study in house, then it becomes the best option which can make you well prepared. Read the following:
Most of the student think that without coaching cracking of GATE or, PSU exams is not possible. But in the overall case, among the most of the student who takes coaching are not is in the position of good rank in these exams.Because the primary/preliminary requirement for these exams is Practicing your technical study.

If you can Practice well for your core subjects(i.e. the base subjects in your department) in your home with some good study material, then you can easily obtain a good rank in your GATE/PSU exams.

You must practice the book for the GATE exams by G.K. Publishers.
For Aptitude read Quantitative & Reasoning by R. S. Aggarwal & also Puzzle by Sakuntala Devi.
These are the main book ...through practicing this book you can easily manage good rank.Try to solve the question with the help of your text books for technical study & makes a number of evaluation.

Follow some Scheduling Study Pattern. This scheduling you can do according to your choice( Like in Morning of 1st two day of a week, you read an important paper like DSP,In Evening you read another paper like E.M.Theory etc....In this way You should make a scheduling for you efficient Study pattern for a week & repeat this).

If you can follow my guidelines a preparation of One month Study is enough to Crack the GATE/PSU exams.

Good Wishes to you for your Best Preparation.
