Re: Need advice on improving english for SBI jobs?

    Hiii

You want to improve english means you want to speak or you want to learn

There are two types of student i have seen one is who cannot speak but can write or understand so the main thing is speaking practive and second is who cannot write correct english cannot understand so how can they speak?

BEST THING IS TO IMPROVE ENGLISH BY LISTENING BECAUSE WE HAVE LEARNT OUR NATIVE LANGUAGE BY LISTENING WHEN WE WERE CHILD (Like hindi, gujarati, marathi, panjabi any native local language we have learnt by listening)

So for all that type of student remember this things

    1. Listen correct english and try to speak that. Dont practice individual words but learn phrases means whole sentence.

    2. Read english newspaper, magazing anything whatever you like to read, read that again and again, dont worry if you dont understand anything and write whatever you read.

    3. Try to speak in english with friends who know good english

When you speak english, grammar is not compulsory but it should be quite good when you write, you have to make complete sentence. You can talk with your friends through sms in english

Just follow this you will see the difference

    Hello Dear

Well English is a section which is common in most of the competitive exams. So it can be really difficult for a candidate to fetch good marks in this section, if the schooling background in non-English medium. However I have seen many I.C.S.E or C.B.S.E 10th board candidates performing better in this section.

But its still not a matter of great concern. You can still improve on this section if you take proper coaching and adapting few habits.I would be going into that in details. So stay tuned.

But mind you.The tips that I would be discussing here are very valuable one and you wont be able to see any appreciable change in your English skills very early. You have to convert these tips into habit. After few months of implementing these tips, you can feel the changes. So without wasting anymore time lets come to the topic. Here are the tips.

    >> Work on grammar section. You have to follow the standard text book "High School grammar and composition". The guides are also available in the market. But don't use them unless you are in severe need of that.Try to solve the exercises with your own knowledge.Don't worry even if the answers are wrong.Try to learn the concept.Don't mug up anything.

    hsg.jpg

    >> Learning English is not about learning only grammar. You also have to focus on the vocabulary. For improving the vocabulary the best book is Word Power made easy by Norman and Lewis.Even reading newspaper would also help. But you have to learn new words, with correct meaning and its usage.

    word power.jpg

    >> Work hard on the communication skills as well because it would be tested in the interview round. For this you can join any reputed Pre-placament training institutes or you may start conducting GD with your friends if you are staying in hostel or you may even start talking in English at home. This would severely boost your confidence level.

    BEST OF LUCK

    REGARDS

    3. Watch English movies with subtitles, watch English news channels
