Is LAW Entrance mandatory for pursuing LLB after Graduation?

I'm pursuing civil engineering. This is my 8th semester going on. I'm aspiring to do Law after this. I would like to know whether I'm required to give any sort of entrance exam to get admission in any of the law colleges or can I seek admission on the basis of the marks I obtain in my engineering?

Re: Is LAW Entrance mandatory for pursuing LLB after Graduation?

    Dear Guest,

There are two ways of joining bachelor of law. You can either appear for CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), which might not be possible in your case. candidates appearing for CLAT should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2013 (22 years in case of SC and ST candidates). This makes you eligible for admission to various colleges across India. In case, you do not wish appear for CLAT, you could apply directly to any college offering LL.B. The eligibility criteria for almost all colleges is the same. As you would have already graduated when you apply, you should have passed with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

I hope this clarifies your query.
