You can join the merchant navy either after completion of 12th standard or after Marine engineering.
There are various entrance exams like IGNOU, IIT - JEE etc. which you need to appear for.
Then there will be a one year training. After completing your sea time for the next post as the 2nd mate also there are exams which you need to clear. For each post there will be exams which you need to clear to become a Captain.
However the marks you have scored in both 12th and graduation is less. You need to have at least a 50%. So you will need to look for other career options.

ELIGIBILITY:-

AGE LIMIT :-Both unmarried male and female candidates age
should not be more than 20 years (on 1st September of the entry year): those belonging to the SC/ST have this rule relaxed by about 5 yrs.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:- Candidates should be passed with Chemistry,
Mathematics and Physics as elective subjects.

Yes you can join Merchant Navy after 12th standard with PCM.To join Merchant Navy You have do Pre-Sea (Panama) and Pre-Sea (Liberian) courses. The qualification required for above mentioned courses is class 12th with 40 % aggregate. The age limit is 17 to 25 years. After clearing the entrance exam you need to pass through a medical fitness test, where they will check your eye-sight.. you must not have any color blindness, otherwise you will be rejected.. Yes ofcourse you can do the job in Merchant Navy to getting a job in Merchant navy you can fill the forms of navy and after appearing in exam you can get a job in Navy or Marine but after 12th your post is very small in Navy....So it's better that firstly you can do your graduation or any type of diploma and then take this exam...Or you can do the aeronotical engineering or other courses related to navy or Submarine ....
But for the exam some conditions are applicable which are :
1) your age must be in between 18 to 24
2) the average Height must required 157 cm.
3) and The average weight required is 55kg.
4) you should be unmarried....

• After completion of 12th with PCM subjects,you can join Merchant Navy but you should be eligible for it means you should be an Indian and your age should lies between 16.5 to 19 years.
  

• Only males are eligible for it but only and only unmarried males.Girls are not eligible for NDA.You should be physically fit and your eye sight should be correct that is full i.e.6/6.

• You have to give the NDA i.e.National Defense Academy to enter into Merchant Navy.
