    How to switch job from Hotel Industry to IT industry in HR Department? What CTC can be expected after switching job?

    If I am working in HR dept in hotel industry for 6 yrs, is there any chance for me in IT industry? If yes what CTC can I expect. I am working for a 5 star hotel as of now.

    Definately you can switch from hotel industry to the HR department of IT industry, but i suggest you to persue MBA in HR side from a recognised university as this will give you an idea of working in HR side along with that it will also help you in grabbing a job in the IT sector. In the initial period you might get some kind of difficulty as you would would be considered as a fresher, but as the time passes on you will surely get more perks in your salary and once you get going then your carrier growth rate will also experience a good hike. So changing your stream from Hotel industry to IT side not only will increase your salary package but will also serve you with a balanced and secured working area.

    Hi,

    As you want to switch from hotel industry to IT industry, chances are there but very rare, as both industries are totally different .
    And it also depends what kind of HR experience you do have ? Let us take an example if you have 6 years hotel industry experience in Recruitment then to get a job in IT recruitment is something very tough as recruitment pattern is different in both industries, but yes if you have HR Generalist experience or Compensation and benefits experience then there are chances for you to get a job in IT companies because these are generalized job, and very much common in both the industries.

    Well if we talk about CTC it depends on your negotiating skills that how well you negotiate while talking about salary and other perks. Anyways you can expect an hike of 20 - 30% on your current salary .
