IBPS conducts banking exams ( CWE ) for PO positions every 6 months , the next exam is in sep 2012 for PO. go and visit IBPS website and find all information.

You need to be good or very good in reasoning, aptitude, english to have the edge over others in banking exams. The competition is huge very huge if not tough. The exam needs a lot of practice and it is not easy at all.You have to be well aware of current affairs and banking awareness.
For the GD and PI,you should be well aware of banking knowledge and also good communication skills.Practice as much as possible because questions are not tough but time is very very limited and you have to be well versed to utilise the maximum time.

See to prepare for getting placed in a good reputed bank at a designated post the best thing for you is to solve the previous year question of the bank for which you are aiming to get in. Another option for you is to join any coaching institute where you will get the exact guidence for all bank exams. There in the coaching institute you can get the list of important topics and the syllabus from where major questions are asked in the exam. To be a good contender for a reputed post in banking sector you have to have command in maths, general knowledge, reasoning, general english and along with this should also have some knowledge in the accounts field. So keeping these things in mind and having confidence in yourself you can look forward to get yourself placed in any public or private sector banks on a rank that will suit your qualification as well as your ability.
