    Hello..
It is advised to you that you shouldn't think for IES because you are not eligible for this exam as this is conducted only on FOUR Engineering Stream:
    MECHANICAL
    ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION
    CIVIL
    ELECTRICAL
& you are from IT Engineering.

But I have some words for you that you should prepare for these exams:
    1.GATE Exam:
Various reputed govt. organisation like IOCL, NTPC, BHEL, BEL, GAIL etc are recruiting through valid GATE score.

Try to solve the question with the help of your text books for technical study & makes a number of evaluation.
You must practice the book for the GATE exams by G.K. Publishers.
For Aptitude read Quantitative & Reasoning by R. S. Aggarwal & also Puzzle by Sakuntala Devi.

You can take admission in good coaching institute like GATE ACADEMY, TARGET, GATEFORUM etc for both GATE as well as IES. They will provide you good study material
& if you can follow their guide, then you can crack the exams.
If you can Practice well for your subjects with some good study material, then you can easily obtain a good rank in this exam.

    2.CSIR-NET Exam:
This is also a good option for you to manage the job of Lecturer in the field of IT in various engineering institute & JRF(Junior Research Fellow) in various reputed institute/organisation.
Recently the notification for NET exam which will be held on JUNE,2013 has been published. Link to the official website of CSIR-UGC www.csirhrdg.res.in for detail application procedure.
