Hello friend
If you are willing to join Govenment Sector companies, then there are common criteria like the companies ask for a certain percentage from the students so as to make them eligible for sitting for the recruitment processes.
But if you ask for Private companies then you can be asked some criteria which are mandatory for the students to be fufilled.
The campanies which come for Campus recruitment generally ask for 60% overall marks i.e. in 10th,12th and Engineering till date.
Those who fulfill this criteria will only be allowed to take the other rounds.
Thanks
as you mentioned that , you are a 2014 passed out candidate it is good to have morethan 70% to apply for various companies .
actaully , in these days also , there are some companies which are recutitng the candidates who have secured 70% or more in b.tech
the companies are ,
ibm
infosys
siemens
mind tree , etc. .
but , most of the companies are recuriting the candidates who have secured a minimum of 60% .
so, at that time in 2014 , these companies may ask 70% in b.tech
so, it is good that , if you secure 70% or more .
as the competition is getting higher and higher , so, you should be god at your technical course .
even for goverment companies like ,
bsnl
bhel
iocl
mtnl , etc. . also , it is good to have morethan 70% in b.tech
all the best
Dear Friend, Most of the companies are required B.Tech(CSE) and minimum criteria is 60% through out your career i.e 10th – B.Tech.The various companies which recruit computer engineers are ONGC, IOC, SAIL, CDAC, ISRO, CDIT, etc. You can write various public sector bank tests to find placements as bank officers. You can even write exams conducted by Railway Recruitment Board, UPSC, Defence, Indian Air Force, etc. I strongly suggest you should do training courses on Oracle, java, J2EE, .NET, .Asp, CCNA, etc. Many institutes like NIIT, Ardent, and IBM provide these courses. This gives an extra benefit in career growth.

Strive for Excellence...
Hi.........
Dear to get a good job like pure software related job( job in MNC's ) or job in some of the good government companies you should have these qualification in you.
1 Through out 65%.
more than 65% in 10th 12th and also in your graduation.
2 No current backlog. That is you should not have a backlog when you appear for interview in companies.
other than that you should have some other thing that is
3 you should not have more than 2 year of education gape.
so if you have these eligibility criteria then you are eligible for the getting job in companies like
TCS, CTS wipro etc.
But PSU and some of the software company ask for the through out 65%. so it is good to have through out 65% it make you eligible to apply in almost all companies including Infosys, BHEL,SAIL, GAIL etc......
good luck
You should have better marks for better scope of placement as a fresher. But regarding the eligibility 60% or for some 65% is enough to make you eligible for most of the Private and Government organizations.Getting a job depends on your performance in the recruitment process and marks are merely for eligiblity. You may be having 90% in your overall academics but if you fail in their recruitment process in any stage, nothing will be helpful. So prepare very well regardless of your marks as competition is huge for all fields.
Core companies asks for a through out first class in your degree.Whereas some companies like huwei, ibm,at&t they asks for 70% aggregate. Also some companies go for last year i.e degree percentage The companies like infosys, wipro, hcl, capgemeni, accenture etc.looks for the same. Also after being eligible for the campus one must have to crack the aptitude & gd,technical and hr round.Evey year such companies hires btech freshers.
More than 60% in enough to enter into IT Companies or in Government Sectors. Percentage is just like an entry ticket. It ensure than you are eligible to attend its interview. All you needed is skill and knowledge. This will help you to grab the job in its heavy competition. So improve yourself in aptitude, communication, programming knowledge(If you wish to go for IT / Lecturer jobs).
Wishing You All The Best.
To get job in software companies you should have 60% through out your career.
you should not have pending backlog.
and
no more than 2 year of education gape.
best wishes
