    How to differentiate between Average Marks and Aggregate Marks?

    what is the difference between average and aggregate.If some one have average marks of 59.80% but according to uttar pradesh technical university rule(25% of 1 yr,50%of 2 yr ,75% of 3yr and 100% of final year) it would be 61.28% and as per my knowledge 61.28% is aggregate marks.Am i right or wrong???????????Please tell me exact difference between average and aggregate.

    You are absolutely right..

    Average Means : Arithmetic mean = Total of all values divided by number of values.

    Aggregate Means : Overall Total.


    Aggregate if frequently used when data from different sources is combined.


    Suppose when N students took M tests.On each test one would typically have an average score calculated by summing the score of each student and dividing by N.Each individual student would also have an aggregate score equal to the sum of his or her scores on the M different tests.
