The standard norm as defined by All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) is first class graduate in the respective branch with 75% marks and P.hd.
However after completion of your MS, you will very well be able to join as an assistant professor or lecturer after completion of post graduation. Later you can gradually opt for your Phd which in many cases are easier once you are in the teaching profession.

So as you have completed your graduation, you are eligible for the post of lecturer in an engineering college.
