Distance education is valid perfectly for Govt jobs but from recognised Universities.
Your University should be recognised by UGC and DEC both.
UGC is University Grant Commission and UGC approval is must for any university offering degree.
DEC is Distance Education Council gives recognition to all the Universities offering degrees for correspondence courses.
If the university is not listed in recognised list of DEC and UGC both, then your degree will be invalid.

    Hello Friend,

Yes, distance education i valid for goverment jobs in India. But the university should be affiliated and recogbized by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC). If the university offers any technical couses such as B.Tech or MCA then the university needs to AICTE or All India Council for Technical Education approval. For your information it is to be noted that in India UGC gives university approval and AICTE gives technical course approval. You should also make sure that the university has DEC or Distance Education council approval.

There is good scope for MSc degree through distance education so you can apply to companies of your choice based on your academics. Best of luck.

    Bye,
