PSU stands for the Public Sector Undertaking.

This is the term used for companies that are controlled by the government. Which means that you will find government to be major stakeholder in such companies.

There are more than 150 such companies in India that are working in different areas. Some are working in oil exploration while others are into the field of coal. There are even companies that general electricity in the country.

These companies hires Engineering graduates. To get job the candidates are asked to appear for written test which is followed by interview. However not all companies follow this pattern.

    1. You should have a valid B.E/B.Tech degree.

    2. Minimum of 60 percent marks are required.

    3. Reserve category students get some relaxation.

    4. It is important to appear for GATE exam before applying.

    5. Please clear any pending backlogs before applying.

    6. Only candidates between 21 to 30 years are selected.

To apply for the job in NTPC , BHEL or any other PSU's , one should have 60% aggregate throughout the career..
As you are doing B.E then you can apply for these PSU 's after completion of your bachelor degree..
For that you have to first appear in a written test exam which is conducted by these PSU's individually..
After qualifying the exam you have to go through the interview session.. where they will ask you questions from your technical subjects..
But for getting a job in BHEL , you must have to appear in GATE exam.. Depending on the GATE score they will call the students for interview..
IOCL does not conduct any different exam for recruiting students..
So, if you wants to get a job in BHEL then try to get a good GATE score..

    All the best..

The marks so asked for are aggregate marks in entire duration of your engineering.
One need not have above 65% aggregate in each semester although that will be better anyhow. But if one does not have,it does not mean he/she will be rejected. Your aggregate marks of all the 8 semesters must be above 65% for BHEL,NTPC and few other. For some PSUs like GAIL,HPCL,DDA 60% is enough for being eligible. All these marks are aggregate marks asked and not semester wise. Even if your marks in one semester or one year is below 65% but you have made up for it by scoring higher in next or previous semesters so that the aggregate is above the required criteria-60 or 65% whatever one asks, then also you will be eligible.
