    Hai

Yes good CGPA is absolutely important for getting jobs in Engineering filed.

CGPA is different from one University to other university. So i am not giving exact CGPA required for getting good job.But you should have percentage minimum 60-65% when you convert your CGPA in to percentage

When your apply for IT companies like TCS,Wipro,Inosys,CTS ,good CGPA is mandatory..When ever you want apply for PSU's like ISRO,DRDO,BSNL,BHEL,ONGC,NTPC ,your CGPA is very important. If you have good CGPA then only your eligible for these goverment sector companies

So, try to get good CGPA in your B.tech for getting Engineering related jobs

CGPA is Cumulative Grade Point Average Its a marking and evaluation format for technical cources like MBA which differs in patterns and stats it is an average of all semisters
generally it is given by=summation of (number of credits x grade scored)/(total available credit x max grade) so it is important

    Hello,
See it is not about how important it is. It is about which scoring system you have available in your college. CGPA or Cumulative Grade Point Average format is a point system and it is the same thing as percentage format. So it depicts the same amount as depicted by percentage format. Different colleges have different marking systems, some have CGPA systems, some have percentage formats. But here the rating is on 10 and in the percentage system the rating is on 100. This is the main difference. Now when you apply for a company for employment, then you fill up either your obtained percentage or the CGPA as applicable for your college. You will see that in the online form both formats are applicable. So whichever may be the system, ultimately your obtained marks matter. So if it not a high point in CGPA, then it is definitely a low percentage in normal format. So you just concentrate on excelling in your subject and availing good marks. the rest will be calculated by your college itself.

Yes I do believe having a good CGPA is never a harm. Being in placement committee I have been told companies coming to NM do not use CGPA for shortlisting process. However, it might be a internal parameter for HRs to decide on a person's calibre.

But MBA is not just abt studies as rightly pointed by RMBT. One has great number of oppurtunities in a B-School to showcase his talent in the forms of paper presentation competition, B-Plan competition and many others.

Many students in my batch give a lot of importance to CGPA which hinders them taking part in competitions however I completely disagree with the opinions of such students.

    hi
obviously, CGPA is important for getting jobs in engineering field.you can convert CGPA to approx. percentage by multiplying it with 9.5 this will be your score in engineering which will reflect your performance.most companies recruit candidate with more than 60% marks in 10, 12, engineering. so if you fail to do so then you will get chance to sit for the interview.HR taking your interview would have first look on your CGPA in all the semesters.
so try to get as much CGPA as possible in all the semesters so that you mightnot worry about jobs at the time of campusing.
    all the best
    work hard,do well.
