Can i try NET exam after BE degree? Can i apply for some positions on Adhoc basis?

i am trying for a job in Univ campus of delhi
i hold enginnering (BE) degree with some certifications in software technology
can i try the NET exam and later apply to some positions on adhoc basis etc
pl guide me as i amvery new to area
