After class 12th Entry into Army is done through NDA

Below is the eligibilty for the NDA exams:
Education- 12th pass for the Army wing
12th pass with Phy and Maths as subjects for the Airforce and Navy wing

Age- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum -19 years


Only MALE candidates can apply

So being a GIRL , you cannot aply to NDA just after passing class 12th.


But after Graduation you can apply for the OTA (Officers Training Academy Jobs)
For this you need to be a graduate
You age should be between 19 to 25 years

No, girls are not allowed to join Indian army after 12th class.

Only unmarried male candidates are allowed to give this NDA Exam.

Eligibility conditions are as follows:

A candidate must be an unmarried male and have attained the age of 16 1/2 years and must not have attained the age 19 years on the 1st January or 1st of July of the year of examination.

Educational qualification:

For Army: 12th pass from recognized board.

For Air force, Navy and Naval academy: 12th pass with physics and maths as subjects from recognized board.

So, you are not eligible to give NDA exam, but if you are really interested in these services, you can give CDS Exam after your graduation, but you can opt only for OTA posts i.e Officers training Academy.

NO you cannot apply for Indian Army through NDA exam conducted by UPSC twice a years. You can apply though CDS exam.
For Indian Army both Male and Female candidates are eligible, a female candidate is eligible only after graduation
You can enter into army though CDS(common defense service) exam which is also conducted by UPSC
For this graduation is compulsory


All the need is that
You should be single
You should have pcm in your 12th standard and also in your graduation with 60% minimum
Your age should be between 19-23 years
You must be physically and mentally fit

Selection procedure:
Written Test
Physical and Mental Test
Interview.

• With the qualification of class 12th, one can give the National defence academy (NDA) for the entrance into the Indian army.
• But for it only male students can apply. Female students are not considered to be eligibile for this examination.
• However if you are interested to join Defence sector, then you can give Combined defence services (CDS) exam for officer training academy.
• Minimum graduation qualification is required for it and your's age should be between 19 years to 25 years.

You can not join Indian Army after 12th because if you want to join Indian Army after 12th then you have to give and clear the NDA(National Defense Academy) entrance exam but girls can not give the NDA exam.

If you go for these civil services then my friend i suggest you to for graduation and then join Indian Army because after graduation both girls and boys can join the Indian Army by giving the CDS(Combined Defense Academy) Entrance exam.

There is no entry for girls in Indian Army at intermediate level..Girls can join Indian Army after completion of graduation only.For joining Indian Army,you need to write CDS examination
