Re: Is 65% marks enough in B.Tech degree to get job in PSU?

    65 % marks is good.
But just with these marks you would not be able to get a job in any PSU

    PSU Selection procedure involves:
    >> Written tests
    >> Personal interviews

Now Many PSU Companies have stopped taking their own Written tests.
They ask candidates to apply to them with GATE scores.

GATE exams are conducted by IIT
Minimum eligibilty to apply to GATE exams is BE/BTECH pass
Final year BE/BTECH candidates can also apply for the GATE exams

Next GATE exams would be held in january 2014

So apply for GATE exams for jobs in PSU Companies

You will be eligible for PSUs with 65% marks. For getting a job you need to appear in their tests and qualify the written,GD and Interview.Your B.Tech marks will help you in becoming only eligible for the exams. You can also apply for some of the major PSUs through GATE as many PSUs have linked with GATE and have removed their own written test. They will conduct direct GD and Interview based on GATE score of the applying candidates.

Re: Is 65% marks enough in B.Tech degree to get job in PSU?

    dear aspirant,
yes,65% aggregate is good but you need to be rich in technical subjects thats the main thing that counts rather than percentage.

Some psu's conducts exams and some don't

mainly companies look for gate score based on gate score they give call letters for final interview before that you need to pay certain amount of demand draft for the application into those companies before to gate exam based on the competition they select and shortlist few for interview.

However few psu's conduct separate exam and followed by interview.

    Thank you.......

    Ongc
    Sail etc..

    Some will ask 60% in B.tech .
Bsnl some times will put cutoff percentage as 60% only .

-) For the IAS , IPS exams also , 55% is enough .
    IAS - Indian Administrative Service

Re: Is 65% marks enough in B.Tech degree to get job in PSU?

For getting jobs in the PSU companies 65% marks in the B.Tech degree is more that enough........
By scoring more that 60% marks in the B.Tech you have satisfied one of the criteria but you still need to satisfy the other criteria also......
Now according to new rule there will be no written exam taken by the companies and they have to recruit their employees on the basis of GATE rank only........
So, for getting job in PSU companies you need to qualify the GATE exam with a good rank in it.......
Criteria for applying to the GATE exam are following........
You must have completed your B.Tech from a recognized university..
You must have at least 60% marks in your graduation..
Age Limit should be between 21 to 27 years. Relaxation of age will be provided according to rules......
