    Hi,
You are eligible for all the government jobs. You can apply for
    Indian army jobs
    Indian navy jobs
    Railway jobs

If you get more than 60% in your graduation then you can apply for the following companies otherwise you are not eligible for these government companies.
    UPSC
    ECIL
    BHEL
Generally in IT sector EIE students have less job.

As you secured only 55.2% in 12th,currently with this kind of percentage getting a job is difficult....if you belong to a reserved class like SC,ST,OBC,VJ,NT etc. then getting a job in public and government sector will be easier for you than getting a job in private sector, as there are relaxations in public sector and government sector for reserved category.......

There are few Public and private sector undertakings which consider %marks achieved for the screening purpose in the initial stage of selection. However, that can not be a hindrance for you if you have skill, knowledge and grit to be on the top. Even if you are not selected in the tier1 companies you can start with a tier2/3 level company and after few years of experience with your sharper skill set you can shift to any company in the world. Primarily marks are considered only for the freshers.

Dont be skeptical and complete your engg with optimism and positive spirit.

    All the best!

    hi,
the aggregate matters in the vcompany, you should do well in your bachelor's degree to secure good aggregate. with the aggregate 60% throughout your academics there is a chance to get opportunities in the big companies in the private sector. but having 50% aggregate you can start with the small companies, gain few years experience and then you can switch to the larger comapnies in the private sector. you should get yourself registetred to the different job portal sites to get the more information about the job opportunities in the private sector.

    All the Best

    Dear friend,

You have 60% then its create huge problem for getting private sector jobs.

Because maximum company want above 60% candidate.

You are eligible for only WIPRO and Honewell.

So the better option for you to go for higher study.

Also there is option to go for some small range company. After getting some experience you can applicable for top most companies.

Because this time you have experience.

    Thanks

Re: Is 55.2% sufficient to get better jobs in private or public sector after completion of B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation?

friend percentage in academics no doubt matters a lot & decides the future course of action by an student as well..

as you have secured 67% in engineering so getting a decent job is not an issue, as you are fulfilling the minimum criteria either for private sector jobs or public secotr jobs...

secondly, your discipline.. applied electronics & instrumentation... it is among those very very few engineering discipline on which researches are still going on.... so there are & will be many & many job opportunities in future....

private sector companies often prefers candidates who are first class pass in their engineering as like you... you can start with any of the companies like sansung, hitachi, sony, etc etc but at the very same time you should try in small companies by the time you dont get a job in big companies...

in public sector PSU's like GAIL,SAIL, NHPC, NTPC, NPCIL, DRDO, ONGC, IOC, HPCL etc etc.....

you can also apply in automotive companies....
companies manufacturing heavy machinery are the core companies for you like SIDEL, L & T, Chicago pneumatic, etc etc

    Best of Luck

    Regards
    Hada

It is little difficult for you to get a job in private sector. In many of the PSUs also you may face some problem. You can go for other Govt fields as Railways,Defence and most importantly IES OR IAS.If you want to have a job in private sector, you may not get the best company at the start. But get few years experience and then go for the kill.Score good in degree. And have good communication skill as well as very good knowledge of your basic skills in your stream.

In public sector percentage is the criteria for application screening purpose, if you are not fulfill their criteria, you can't apply(percentage criteria is totally depend on industry) but private sectors(small & large) percentage do matter but that is not the priority ,private firm only wants performance, if you show your positive strength like communication skill, analytical skill, team player, positive attitude, learning attitude, multi tasking at the time of interview they ignore percentage, they can ask you a question for your low percentage ,if you handle your question well, JOB IS YOURS...ALL THE BEST!!

Re: Is 55.2% sufficient to get better jobs in private or public sector after completion of B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation?

    Hi
Try securing at least 60% in ur btech so that ur aggregate is never a a hurdle for ur eligibility. but as per as securing 55% in class12 or btech is concerned, u can still apply for government jobs like Banking (for PO post u have to be a graduate with 55% aggregate and for clercial post u have to be 12th passed with 55% aggregate), railway jobs, defence jobs, professor in govt. institutes.

Let me tell you that there are no great prospects after class 12th
I would strongly recommend that you go for BTech and try securing 555 and above in aggregate.

after 12th the jobs that you can apply for are :-
    1) BPO / call center jobs
    2) tele caller
    3) administration jobs
    4) teacher
    5) part time jobs as sales representative , online jobs as data entry , posting ads.

But after BTech , you can apply in many IT as well as government owned companies at decent posts which can scale you to higher positions as you gain experience.
    all the best.
